My Latest Knit...

This is the most recent knit blanket that I've made!!! I love these blankets because they are very easy to make, but just because they are easy doesn't mean they aren't super comfy and wonderful! This is a fast and easy project to do if you need a little gift for a little someone, but you are short on time! Hope you like it!!!

My Latest...

So, this is the latest in my "Perfectly Imperfect" line...it's not quite finished, and I did this one differently than I did the others...come to think of it, I don't think I've made any of these blankets the same way!!! With each one, I try to do something a little different...I'm hoping eventually, I'll find a way to make them that I really love...in the meantime, this learning process is pretty fun!!! Not sure yet who the lucky recipient of this one will be...we'll see!!!

Be Still My Heart...

I just put this book by Jo James on my "TO READ" list...mainly because I just had the delightful pleasure of meeting this wonderful woman!!! She is such a sweetie! My hubby knows her hubby and we took baby girl over to their house because they offered up some of their plants to us so that we can plant them at our place. I didn't know she was a published author when we got there, but through talking, it came out that she wrote this book, and she is currently working on a sequel to this book. I read the synopsis, and I also read some things that people who read it have said...all good things, by the way. You can read about it, too at www.amazon.com. I just wanted to share our daily adventure...what fun we have!!!

...baby shower...

whew...what a weekend...mom and I left with baby girl on Friday morning to head up to Mattituck, NY...it's GORGEOUS there (in case any of you were wondering)...but it is quite a long way from Virginia...we left around 9:15 am, and got there around 7:30 pm...we were welcomed with open arms from two of the sweetest people I know (you know who you are...I like to leave out names for anonymity)...but it was SO GREAT that you were gracious enough to welcome us into your home and literally let us move in with all of baby girls' things!!! Consider it a dress rehearsal for when "Mister baby" makes his/her debut in just a FEW SHORT WEEKS!!!
I had such a blast at the baby shower on Saturday and I wish that I was able to post more pictures to share...but I did upload them all to snapfish and shared the link with lots of people...if you did not get the link...let me know...I'll send it to ya! Anyway...I always find it so sweet how much love everyone can feel for a little baby even before the baby makes their way into the world...it's funny how they make their way into our hearts long before we are even able to physically hold them in our arms. I cannot hide my excitement for this sweet little addition to our family...I'm about to come out of my skin in anticipation of laying my eyes on that sweet little face in just a short while. The gifts that were given were so great...LOTS of handmade items, which always touch me...I think it's so sweet to receive an item that has been prepared especially for you BY HAND with love...you can tell just how much care and time went into something like that, and it's just so sweet!!! "Little Mama" received handmade items (beautiful handmade items) from her mom, her grandma, her mother-in-law, her sister-in-law, her Aunt-in-law, and also a sweet little stool made in part by mother-in-law and in part by our sweet Great Grandma (before her passing), it made me cry tears of joy to see it! I don't have a picture, but I know someone out there reading this does have a picture, so if you would be so kind to share it, I can post it later!!! If I have left out someone else who made something, my deepest apologies!!! But they were all so beautiful!
Mom and I left with baby girl on Sunday and took the Ferry from Orient Point to New London to visit Great Grandpa in Fall River!!! It was a short trip, but it was so great!!! Baby girl had such a great time talking with Great Grandpa...he could barely get a word in edgewise...and she is very much looking forward to talking his ear off again over Thanksgiving!!! We love you, Great Grandpa!!!
We left Tuesday morning, and thankfully made it home in time for me to cast my vote for this presidential election!!! I VOTED!!! Yay for me...hope all of you voted as well!!!
Until next time...hug your kids...give 'em lots of kisses...smile and laugh as MUCH AS YOU CAN!!!!
